Betina Samaia's photographs have been highly influenced by the Impressionism.
The lack of sharpness in some images, photographs that require imagination
to be understood, mixing reality and the imaginary world, are what interest her.
For Betina, images, not words, are the most instinctive way to share one's inner
world. "Photography works as a bridge connecting the real with the unreal", she says,
"and this twilight between reality and imagination is what stimulates me.

"I am interested in the signs with which photography empowers us, signs that have
greater informational density. What attracts me in photography is not its capacity
to reduce the world. What fascinates me is its capacity to become an element that
propels the imagination. I want to decipher archetypal images in an intimate
way through my work.”"
